Getting care shouldn’t be complicated.
Most families come to us in the middle of something. We keep the first steps short and personal.
Step 1: Tell us what you need
Send a short request with a few details about who needs support and when. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Step 2: We understand your care needs
A team member follows up and arranges the right consultation or assessment, to talk through routines, preferences and what matters most.
Step 3: We coordinate the right support
We match caregivers to the plan and arrange visits around the household’s schedule.
Step 4: Stay connected as care continues
Visits are checked in and out with electronic visit verification, which you can see in the app, and we adjust the plan as needs change.
A care plan built around the person.
Your consultation is a conversation, not a checklist. We talk about:
- What a good day looks like, and what matters most to the person receiving care
- Daily routines, preferences, language and culture
- Safety at home: mobility, falls, medications and equipment
- Who in the family should be kept informed, and how
The right caregiver, consistently.
We match caregivers by skills, schedule and personality, and keep the team small and familiar. If a match isn’t right, tell us and we’ll change it.
Families kept in the loop.
Caregivers check in and out with electronic visit verification (EVV), and you can see the check-in and check-out information in the Tap’N’Care app, along with profile information about your caregiver before they arrive. You can request care in the app too, in advance or at short notice. We check in regularly and act on what you tell us.
How we check the people who care for your family.
Everyone is interviewed, police-checked and credential-checked before approval. Then we stay involved.
Interview before approval
Every applicant is interviewed and screened before they are approved to work with clients, residents or patients.
Vulnerable Sector Check
A police Vulnerable Sector Check is required and verified before anyone is approved.
Credentials verified at the source
PSW certificates are checked with the issuing school. RPN, RN and NP registration is verified with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
References by conversation
We speak with past employers or supervisors about how a person works, rather than relying on letters alone.
Certifications and health requirements
Applicable CPR and First Aid certification is verified, along with health, safety and immunization requirements where the role or placement needs them.
Onboarding, then ongoing support
Workers complete Tap’N’Care onboarding and orientation. After that, we check in regularly, supervise and act on feedback.

Paying for care.
You may already have health benefits that can help. Depending on your plan, eligible home-care services may be covered through extended health benefits. For GreenShield, we can submit eligible claims directly where your plan and the service permit.
What care costs depends on the type of care, the schedule and the level of support. Contact us for current rates. Your rate will be confirmed in writing before care begins.
Provider relationships
- GreenShieldDirect submission of eligible claims, where the member’s plan and service permit
- Canada LifeProvider relationship through providerConnect. Requirements depend on the member’s plan
Coverage and claim requirements depend on each member’s own plan. These relationships are not an endorsement by the insurer, and Tap’N’Care can’t guarantee coverage or reimbursement.
Common questions.
How quickly can care start?
After you send a request, a team member follows up and arranges the right consultation or assessment. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Once we agree a care plan, we match a caregiver and set the first visit around your schedule. Tell us if the need is urgent and we’ll do our best to help.
Will we have the same caregiver each visit?
We aim for consistency, matching a small, familiar group of caregivers to your schedule so the person receiving care isn’t meeting someone new every visit.
What does home care cost?
It depends on the type of care, the schedule and the level of support needed. Contact us for current rates. Your rate will be confirmed in writing before care begins.
Can health benefits or insurance help pay?
Depending on your plan, eligible home-care services may be covered through extended health benefits. For GreenShield, Tap’N’Care can submit eligible claims directly where your plan and the service permit. For Canada Life (providerConnect) and other insurers, coverage and claim requirements depend on your plan, and we’ll help you understand the documentation needed. Only your insurer can confirm coverage.
How do I know visits happened?
Caregivers check in and out with electronic visit verification (EVV), and families can see the check-in and check-out information in the Tap’N’Care app.
Can private care add to government-funded care?
Yes. Many families combine publicly funded care arranged through Ontario Health atHome with private hours to fill the gaps.
Let’s talk about care at home.
Tell us a little about the person and the help that’s needed. We’ll take it from there, at your pace.
